The angiogram just shows where a blockage is. An angioplasty clears them. They can use either the balloon method (insert catheter w/balloon that's inflated to push the placque out of the way) or insert a stent. The stent holds the artery open and pushes the plaque back too. He has one stent in now from his heart attack 5 years ago. (A mild one thank heavens!)

He was a awake for the proceedure before, and watching, they do numb the area in the groin where they insert the catheter. He didn't mention any pain.

Peggy I am glad that Jim is doing better. It is hard when the person you count on the most gets sick. I know this month has been rough for my family too. But we all will be stronger from the experience. I will keep your family in my prayers ... And I hope Jim's test goes well tomorrow.

Thank you. I'll be off line all day tomorrow and not sure about Fri. Will let you know as soon as I can.

Thank you, things went well. He has one small blocked artery but it's too small to do anything with. It will eventually resolve itself. This blockage probably happened a few weeks back when he had the pain and we went to the ER. It sounds like the worst is over.

All the large/main arteries are open and fine.

Jim has to take it easy for about a week while his leg heals (where they went in w/the catheter) and then he's back to "normal".

Peggy - That is excellent news. I thought about you and Jim off and on all day yesterday and glad to hear everything is well. Now comes the hard part, keeping him quiet for a week

Thanks so much. Keeping him quiet is easier than with a corgi. He's reading a lot.

That is good to hear - glad he is behaving himself and I hope your stress level is down. Yup corgis are hard to keep down.

That must have been such a relief! Hopefully all of you can relax a bit and take some time returing to normal. I'm happy everything has turned out so well!

Yup, we've just been hanging out at home and taking it easy this weekend. We might go down to SLC tomorrow though to see my son's Grand Opening of his new shoe kiosk in a local mall.
