The movie "Little Dog Lost" - 03-12-2008, 07:39 PM

The video of "Little Dog Lost" a Disney movie first shown on TV in the early sixties, is now available on DVD. ( About 45 min. long) I have viewed a copy and found it as wonderful as I remembered it to be ages ago. My brother bought it on E-Bay
It is sold as a Disney Classic, Disney Movie Club
The price is rather high, I think he paid over $30 for the DVD. If anyone goes looking for it be careful as there is another video that is similar that can get confused with the original.
The story is about Candy a taffy colored Pembroke who gets lost as a youngster and all the adventures he goes through findng his real home.(trying to not give too much away) But I will say there is a happy ending.
It may be less expensive to go directly to Disney Movie Club. Since it is probably new on the market the price on E-bay will likely come down if you wait long enough.

Hey June,

Not any chance i could borrow it to show to my 4th graders and then return it right to you is there??? I promise i would be very careful with it and wouldnt loan it out??? They just love hearing about colby and cammie stories, its a daily thing...and we have MCAS coming up and they usually get a movie afterwards to relax after all that taxing testing...if not, i understand completely...but you cant blame a teacher for asking

see you soon
julie

Thanks for letting us know Jane. I'm glad to hear Disney is finally making some of the wonderful programs in their vault available.

Jane - you, I and some other have done it. Well .... we can take some credit I am sure. We wrote, emailed or contacted Disney directly and this is the result after all these years since the movie-for-tv was made and they thinking there was no demand. Well done Jane. Take a bow (wow).

My brother dilligently searched for it on E-Bay thinking that is the only way to find it. Now I see you can order it from Disney Movie Club. They are having a promotion where you can buy four or five movies at $1.99 when you agree to buy five more over a two year period at the price of $19.99 each.

I was all over that Disney promo. I'm a kid at heart, plus, with a couple of grandkids, it won't take long to fulfill my membership and then cancel.

The promo is 4 movies for $1.99 each, then a bonus movie for $14.95, then a second bonus movie for $9.99. Free shipping. About a $33 cost for 6 movies. Then you have to buy 3 more within the next 2 years.

I'll let my husband or grandkids pick out the next 3 movies. I got what I wanted.

Are you sending for "our movie"? You won't be sorry, I can just about guarantee it. We tried to make copies for our friends but it would not copy. I wasn't trying to make a profit or "boot-leg". Jane

some one could get nine "Little Dog Lost" and split the price between those that want them.

Someone will have to post me a copy. I am sure that the WWCWC could afford a copy of the DVD.

The Disney Movie Club only allows two copies of one title. Joining to get a good price to split with friends would not be viable for me. Two days ago I sent an inquiry of buying several (5-10) copies of Little Dog Lost, Haven't gotten a reply yet. they have replied within a few days to emails in the past.

I never thought to order two of the Little Dog lost movies!!!! Darn it!!!! I was just too excited that they finally released it on a DVD. I would have bought one if it only came on a VHS

June (Jane Austen) very kindly loned me a copy of the DVD of Little Do Lost and i am showing the tv movie to a group of Wellington Corgi Club members this Sunday at my home.
Of course the movie is old hat and the plot typically far fetched and some of the dialogue and narration not always correct, but it certainly showed off a Pem Corgi in good light - sensitive, friendly, alert, resilient, brave, crafty, herding skills, sympathetic, good natured, intelligent and above all a little ball of speed. The movie was almost all of Candy on the run and he was up to it in not having any excess weight. Candy knew when his bread was buttered. or in other words his mind ticked like a clock. The pup in the movie was not the cutest example of a Pem pup but in the early 60's Pem's were not as generally glamorous as they are these days.
