Barbara - there is just no end to your talents or those of your Pems.
The pics on this post are entirely appropriate. How much of the quilts are Corgi related? If anyone has things genuinely related to pure bred Corgis (Corgi hair loomed products) or Corgi items - ornamental, soft toy etc) for sale or give-away don't hesitate to promote them through Go Corgi. |

Barbara,
Great pictures of the quilt - of course, I told you that I also quilt and have made many of them (I have been quilting for 20 years)- some I have given away and many I have kept to be passed down to my kids. I would love to find a pattern for a Corgi(one that is pieced), not appliqued, but I have yet to find one and I have searched every now and then for one on the internet. Whenever I lay out a quilt on the floor, my cats are the first ones to Christen them - there is something about Quilts and cats, they just seem to love them. I would love to find some Corgi themed fabric for quilts. Linda Last edited by corgimom; 06-15-2006 at 09:22 PM. |

Barbara,
How gorgeous! A few of the fabrics I believe I recognize. That should do really well as a fund raiser. I have a fair collection of fabrics started, just haven't delved into actually doing a quilt, mine usually end up being turned into bandanas. I've made pawprint and bone shaped Christmas stockings that were fun.Hope you find a picture of Buddy, that will be fun to see. Debbie |

Barbara,
Here is a site I found that you can get Corgi Faces on the fabric and can choose the color of the background - about $10.00 a yard. Go to www.hotdiggitydog.com/corgipem.htm and check it out. Also, a book I found called Canine Quilts - said it has an applique pattern for a Pembroke and Cardigan. Go to www.quiltknit.com/books/assorted2.htm and scroll down to the book listed. Also two additional sites that sewers or quilters might be interested in go to www.dogonitgallery.com/xfabricsq.shtml and click on Corgi breed or www.silverliningsoriginals.com/quilts.html and click on canine corner linda Last edited by corgimom; 06-15-2006 at 10:36 PM. |

Love the quilt Barbara. Like Linda I also quilt - the avatar of Emma & Chloe has Chloe on the 1st quilting I ever did. This past fall I made 3 baby quilts for my grandnieces & grandnephew for Christmas. First I had made for a while. If you do find a nice pieced pattern of a corgi please let us know - I'd love to try one too!

T-Gal,
I will keep my eyes open for a pieced pattern of a Corgi and if I ever find one, I will let you know. Of Course, if I was talented enough, I could maybe design one on graph paper - what about you? Check out this web site www.quiltaway.com/books.htm It has a book called Paper Pieced cats and dogs and list a Welsh Corgi as one of the patterns - I however, have not done paper piecing. Cindy,
you have inherited a wonderful gift from your grandmothers. For anyone out there... I did find a book entitled "Darling Little Dogs" by Darcy Ashton - it has applique patterns for 32 small dogs and the Welsh Corgi is one of them. If you type in the book and authors name on the internet, you will get a chance to look at it. Linda |

Barbara,
I bought some Dobi fabric from hotdiggitydog.com. They had the English Dobi (uncut ears) and I thought it would be fun to make my son, Aaron, a throw for his birthday. He and his wife have a Dobi with uncut ears and think he will enjoy this. I like the colors and layout on your quilt and MAY "borrow" it for Aaron's throw - hope you dont mind.... ;-0
