No, not a member,
It sounds like a fun group Barbara; and they forbid rules!, other than the color of clothes you wear based on your age. That could be easy to do. I have heard about this group and it sounds like it is fun for their members, but if you join, you will have to wear your hat and post a picture of you on this forum. You may have to wear your red hat when you take Montrose for a stroll that is if you are over 50??You don't have to tell, it's okay Last edited by corgimom; 08-26-2006 at 12:07 AM. |

For some corgi content in this thread.
http://users.chartertn.net/wnoel/redhat.html I'll have to find my picture of a late former foster Kergan in her Red Hat outfit and upload it. Debbie |

Red Hat Kergan
These are of a dear little foster I had a couple of years ago. I just got word last weekend that she had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She was 12 or so when she came into rescue, so she was 15-16 when she passed. Kergan was a heart foster. Went to the TN Corgi Picnic, was a hoppy toad herder, hunter extraordinaire and embodied the spirit of the Red Hat Society. I miss her.

Deb,
Bless her little soul - those are the MOST adorable pictures and I hope she is happily running at the Rainbow Bridge. She doesn't look the least bit embarrassed to be wearing that wonderful oufit, but she looks rather proud - the hat is great. One of those pictures needs to be on a greeting card. Why do I have the feeling that Fluffypants, T-Gal, ChloeLouise & Darci are all going to want something on this order? And Barbara, you MUST join now and dress Monty up, and you both can stroll down the sidewalk in your matching attire

Those photos of Kergan and accompanying explaination brought a lump to my throat! What a lovely story and darling "outfit"! It sounds like she was very much loved and treated with gentility!
Now, about outfitting my ChloeLouise in a similar get-up...hhhhmmmm, I certainly fall into the Red Hat "age category" but my little darling is just a pup yet! I did find myself checking out the collar, tho ...let's see, a Halloween themed ruffle for her neck?...For the 4th of July I found a clever little neckerchief with a velcro closure - I'll try to take a photo of Chloe wearing it...Margo |

You know us toooo well! LOL Barbara, My friend Tammy & I have talked about joining a Red Hat Club - we are just waitting for her birthday next spring SO we can wear matching colors - we have one friend who is active in the one and says they have a ball. The girlsfriends I've work with for years (retired and some not) have a Girls Night Out that meets every few months for dinner and fun - we could easily become our own Red Hat Club! We meet in Sept for our cook-out and I may bring up the idea - Tammy may just have to wear Pink

Thanks everyone for the comments about Kergan - she embodied the Red Hat spirit and we have Lily Woof Fluff (the web link I posted) to thank for her outfit. I still have the hat, but she proudly wore her ruffle when she met her new "Mom" and went to her new home. Just the prior weekend, I received word that another of my former fosters, Cinnamon Apple Pie
, had also passed away. I don't believe Cinnamon had a Red Hat outfit, but she definitely had the spirit. She had a comment about almost everything from the can opener to the vacuum to the cracking of eggs for morning breakfast to anyone who dared pass in front of her house on the sidewalk without giving the password. Endearingly bossy was Cinnamon. Her family reports the house is very quiet now. And now this weekend, I heard from yet another foster. She's my forever baby foster as she came into rescue as a 12 week old puppy. Not a candidate for Red Hat yet, she's a lavendar and pink girl, she has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Corey is only 4 1/2. This makes three weekends in a row with bad news. So in honor of Kergan and Cinnamon, I think I shall wear purple and red tomorrow. ![]() Debbie |

...the circle of life in our community...
...we rejoice in the birth of horsehauler's beautiful puppies and mourn the loss of an elderly, beloved companion or a precious life cut short... It is uplifting to know that this site is a place that provides comfort, support, and empathy as well as celebration, hope, and joy.... Margo |
