Barbara,
I dont have an apple recipe but your post brought back wonderful memories of my childhood. We had a small apple orchard ...when the apples were ripe my grandparents, great-aunts , aunts, uncles, and cousins would all come over. My grandmother and her sisters were in charge of the recipe, Mom & aunts peeled and Daddy and Uncles and older children would pick the apples! My grandfather was in charge of keeping the little children busy - he loved us children! Everything went into a hugh copper kettle over a campfire outside. When the applebutter was ready then the canning began! Those were busy days but what I remember best were the wonderful smells, the laughter and just happy memorys of everone together. thanks for the memory!
