My husband was watching the Badgers last night. I watch the Green Bay Packers, but I am not into college football, my husband and son are. I prefer to watch college woman's basketball.
Actually Cindy, my daughter would love to play basketball for Pat S. for the lady Vols; We love watching them along with South Carolina and U Conn.

Not kidding, we love to watch her. I have read her book "reach for the Summit" she is a tough lady. It mentioned in her book that some girls who made the team, came to practice the first night and after all the running she made them do, they ran out the door and never came back.
yes, my daughter would love to play for her; also Geno from U-Conn . She loves the game - her goal is to get a scholarship somewhere. Last edited by corgimom; 09-03-2006 at 08:55 PM. |

My daughter, Daria, now 15, had a season playing basketball and it was a disaster. The coaching was terrible and it was not a good sport for Daria. She is going to play netball this summer. New Zealand are the world champions at netball - which is a female sport and was once called outdoor basketball. Daria is skillfull at hockey. My nine year old has played soccer and rugby and doesn't really like either. So next winter he is taking up basketball. My daughter is short like me and my youngest son is above average height. My oldest son was taller than me at age 12 and he is 6ft 3in and still growing. He excelled in sprinting, being one of the fastest for his age in the region. Taylor has never been to a basketball game but he has seen all the others mentioned.

GO GATORS! We are HUGE college football fans...and the SEC conference is by far the best. We were definitely watching the Tenn game and rooting them on. So much for the begining of the season rankings, huh?! Loved seeing them take it to California... of course, FL won too (even though they don't air a lot of the FL games out here in UT, grrr) so the weekend is working out for us so far. Tonight is one of the big rivalry games we want to watch between Florida State and Miami (both rivals of ours but we dislike Florida State much more than Miami so we'll be rootin for the Hurricanes). At least this game will be aired here. I think the first FL game we will get to watch this season will be against Tennessee....my son even has his lucky jersey all ready...

Hey Cheryl,
I am really looking forward to Tenn - Fl game in two weeks. Tn Fl Ala Ga Are some of my favorite games and teams to follow. When we arent playing Ala I have to scream a little roll tide roll. LOL You are so right SEC is the best. When college football season starts we are glued to the tv. We dont go to a lot of games maybe 1 a yr for home games. Its just easier to take potty breaks and eat at home, but boy it is a lot of fun to be in the stands or tailgate parties. I'll be thinking of you and the gators in 2 weeks. I hope it will be a great game.

Univ. of Nebraska is their pro team. I'm in Big Ten country. I work about a mile from the campus of the University of Michigan, but I can't say I'm much of a fan of theirs. I tend to root for Michigan State. The Spartans. I also root for Texas and I like the Miami Hurricanes. Im mostly a pro football fan. I've been a fan of the Miami Dolphins for close to 15 yrs. AFC East Champs this year....remember these words!!!!

I dread college football season! I've never been a huge fan of most sports, but my husband absolutely adores Michigan (Lady's Daddy, how dare you root for the enemy?!)
![]() Illini is huge around here; we live about 40 minutes from Champaign and people around here worship them. |

Well, I have to say I was disappointed with Miami tonight. They GAVE that game away in the second half. Sad, just sad. Of course.... being a Gator fan, we're sad anytime FSU wins a game LOL. Speaking of... LSU is our backup college team so we root for them also unless they are playing UF.
As for pro teams. We gave up watching our team loose a long time ago LOL. We are New Orleans Saints fans (hubby grew up there until 7th grade.... when he almost killed himself at the superdome in a bicycle accident). Our backup pro team is the Dolphin's though so I hope you are right about them having a good team this year. -Cheryl |
