Angry Breaking News! Urgent response is needed! Please read! - 02-01-2007, 03:28 PM

Breaking news today:
Justin and Joshua Moulder, charged with torturing and baking a puppy to death, entered guilty pleas to the nine felony counts against each of them in Atlanta today. They face up to 90 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for February 9th.

URGENT: Your letters to the judge in support of the maximum sentence for these men are desperately needed! Letters should be sent as soon as possible--the earlier you send them, the more likely they will be included in the sentencing file. Please take a few moments to compose your own, or cut and paste the letter below. Letter should be addressed to Judge Thelma Wyatt Moore, but sent to:

Assistant District Attorney Laura Janssen
Office of the Fulton County District Attorney
136 Pryor Street, SW--Third Floor
Atlanta, GA 30303

RE: Sentencing for Justin Moulder and Joshua Moulder

Dear Judge Moore:

I am writing to you in support of the maximum sentence of 90 years in prison for Justin and Joshua Moulder.

In addition to defacing and burglarizing a community center, the defendants duct-taped, doused with paint, set on fire, and baked a puppy to death in a gas oven. According to trial testimony, the puppy's death was slow. She thrashed about inside the oven, defecated on herself, and wore her claws down to bloody stumps. The suffering endured by this animal is beyond anything you or I can imagine.

Justin and Joshua Moulder's horrific actions required planning, deliberation, and callous indifference to life. The research on animal abuse is clear: those who torture animals are very likely to commit similar crimes against people. Therefore, I firmly believe that these men should be imprisoned for the rest of their natural lives, and I urge you to impose the maximum penalty when they come before you for sentencing on February 9th.

Sincerely,

(Your signature)

I've said it before and I'll say it again....I cannot believe that some people actually do these horrible things to animals and/or people. I just don't get it!

Hayashi_eri - In Heaven there is no more tears so I would say that little puppy forgot all about his pain and suffering in a twinkling of an eye as soon as he went through the pearly gate.

Bonnie,

That is a perfect way of looking at it; I could barely read this story.

Ugh - my stomach just flipped over. I like Bonnie's comment - I'm going to cling to that.

I think 30 days in the electric chair would be more apropos for anyone who does things of this nature. They have a sick mind and are reminiscent of the Count Marquis deSade. If memory serves me correctly, I believe this is how Jeffrey Dohmer started off...torturing and dismembering animals and we all know what he did and ended up. Back in the Middle and Dark Ages they use to put "heretics" on a device known as a rack where their limbs were tied and stretched. Perhaps a few days on the rack would help these guys to see what pain is all about. No excuse for this and they deserve the maximum sentence possible. There's nothing more innocent (save a newborn baby) than a little puppy and may God render unto these guys due recompense for their deeds.

Oh yes, we had Jeffrey Dahmer here in Wisconsin and also a man named Steven Avery who apparently lit a cat on fire many years ago, along with other things. He is now accused of killing and torturing a young woman from around here on October 31st, 2005 - his trial starts on Monday.

Horrible horrible!

Your right ColColt - I have also read/heard that all serial killers start by torturing small animals. I am glad these monsters were caught.

There is too many injustices in the world and it makes one wonder what exactly happened to these people to create such monsters. It's sad. Sad for the innocent animals and innocent people and sad for the poor twisted people that perform these horrific acts. No matter how one looks at it, it is a lose lose situation. I can hardly imagine real people actually doing something like this.

I agree Bonnie - I wonder too what kind of home life or trauma or mental condition could produce such people - or is it all a horrible mix of dna?

When you think about the permissive society we live in today where no correction is allowed in the schools and many cases, the home, where violence runs amuck on TV and kids are allowed to have video games that reek with violence and even the cartoons have gone overboard, you develop a society that breeds this kind of behavior. Look at all the shootings in grade school country wide. When I was in grade/high school, the biggest problem teachers/principals had were the rebels that shot rubber bands in class, sailed paper airplanes or smoked in the bathrooms. There were a few outcast of that era but, it didn't hold a candle to what society is producing today.

There are lots of good kids out there that don't fall into this trap of "I can do anything I want to to whomever I want to" mentality are honest and good citizens. Then, you have those that are like the animals were discussing. Why the difference? I wish I knew. All should take full responsibility for their own actions and not blame their actions on some little whelm when they were young. Unfortunately, many parents, teachers, etc., are the one's to blame just as dog owners are to blame if their pets act like wild wolves around others. Training begins in the home.
