Exclamation Puppy Chew Recall!!! - 04-06-2007, 01:54 PM

Washington company recalls pet chews | Top Stories | KING5.com | News for Seattle, Washington

Treats recall. Wanted you all to know. The brand wasn't familiar to me, but thought I'd point this out.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I think we will be seeing more recalls. It is about time that pet food manufacturers were called to task!!!!

Earlier in the recall a local vet was on the news saying that to be really safe we should get rid of any pet food containing wheat gluten. I had some Alpo treats with it and tossed them. I'm just hoping that it's not hiding in anything else, not reported on the label.

Jeez, here we go again! I have heard of american bullie, but I was never quite sure what a pizzle chew was so I never bought them! It really is starting to make sense to just make your dog's food with the appropriate vitamins and minerals...Today show had a whole segment on it earlier this week.

I just came back from Petsmart and I had to buy dogfood. It scares me to death to even feed them anything any more. I bought new treats - just a small bag of Natures Recipe no wheat gluten and it was $4.00. They are going to be eating alot less treats until this gets solved.

I am with you all. All these recalls scare me to death. That is why I went to Dick Van Pattens Organic Food and Natural treats. They contain no corn, wheat, or soy so hopefully I am safe feeding it to Sassy. I do add a small amount of boiled liver and green beans pureed together to the food and she eats it right up. I am glad they are taking these dog food manufacturers to the mat but it still scares me.
