Identifying mixed breeds - 09-11-2007, 06:04 PM

Metamorphix INC in the USA has developed a test called The Canine Heritage Test which can reveal genetically, all the breed composition of your mixed breed dog/pup at any age.

Cost is US$70 and is done via email, post and in the comfort of your lounge!

The only drawback at present is that 38 common breeds have been genetically validated - but the company is working to increase this as rapidly as possible.

There are so many people who are uncertain the exact breeds associated with their dogs - this new initiative is quite wonderful - and has many excellent uses For example, you can get proof that your Corgi is indeed pure bred.
