Well, I have to apologize for starting this tangent. I guess in the end, the point is that the responsibility of a member of any society extends into all realms. The symptoms of societies ills do need to looked at from time to time as they are all interconnected. Irresponsible pet ownership/pet abandonment is conceptually no different than irresponsible child rearing/child abandonment.

No need to apologize Matt, you just took the bait that was cast.

Well, since I have not yet met one person who was perfect I think it's safe to say we've all got flaws.

And to be honest I've not heard or read about any leader of any country that did not have flaws.

I do not belive that many were "seriously flawed" though. And yes, I think fondly of Ronald Regan and think he was a good president. (So now you all know where I stand on politics.)

I still think that people outside of this country have no business getting involved in our politics. We don't need any advice on who to vote for or what to think about our presidents. Thank you anyway.

Peggy

I think people who live outside of our country stand in awe and are really quick to criticize the USA BUT if their country was invaded, who would they call first and who would be there first, surely not the Ghostbusters. I am a Ronald Reagen fan too. He was one of the greats along with Dwight Eisenhower and a few others. I agree, talking politics on a corgi forum is definitely not the place for open discussion especially when the person who started it isn't even an American citizen.

I agree with you Bonnie, and I'm not saying anything else on this subject.

To MattC - I did say "seriously" flawed. We humans are all flawed apart from Jesus (and Mary).

I could talk about New Zealand's leader, Prime Minister, Helen Clark - but Hillary Clinton thinks she is dead or deposed despite Helen having had a long conversation at an official function in Britain with Bill Clinton only a week before Hillary pronounced Helen as ex.

Well Hillary is just a Junior Senator and you are from New Zealand (just joking). Unfortunately I can't comment on being seriously flawed. You see I am a Connecticut Yankee who is trained in the field of Architecture. I am a walking serious flaw!

Junior senator,Yes. But does Hillary talk to Bill - or does she talk down to Bill. Occasionally, she needs rescuing.
