I voted yes for the bark on command, but I kinda haven't because I've been somewhat unsuccessful. She did it at first but I can no longer get her to do it.

Don't know how she learned it but Ruby will always give me a lick when I say "give me a kiss". Never has failed me yet.

Em's great at the Kisses command now if I can just teach Chloe how NOT to bark on command that would be great!

I taught both of my dogs to bark on command. And more importantly, to stop on command.

Neither dog has been taught to kiss on command. It's because of our height difference.

I tried for years to teach Zip to give kisses; he just turns his head! Brat! When I got Zia, I told hubby that I would teach her to give kisses if it killed me. Well, she does give kisses! I also said she'd be a sweet little dog that would curl up against me, sit in my lap, would love to be petted; that hasn't worked out so well!

Barbara ~ I'm 5'0". Hubby says that's why he got me Zia; we both have short legs!

Barbara ~ I'd love to see picture of that! My hubby is only 5'10". I used to play darts with a guy who is 6'6" or 6'7". That was a sight to see when we played right next to each other. His ex-wife is only about 5'2" or so.

Yes to bark, growl and kiss. Although I do have to bend somewhat for the latter.

I taught Trevor to "give kisses" when I was trying to break him of "mouthing" my hand while playing (NOT that he's 100% broken that habit!)
But, whenever I say "kisses" now, I do always get a lick on the hand.

Dillon's idea of a "kiss" is sticking his nose on your lips.. he wont usually LICK unless there is food there LOL! But still it is cute, i ask for a kiss and he jams his wet booger nose on my lips, LOL!!!
I taught Dillon to whisper ( the warning quiet "buhhh" bark) and to SPEAK- a loud bark.. sadly, i still cant seem to "turn him off" when he starts to bark - he is getting better but still , sometimes it can be annoying.

OK I am 5' 1/2" and Kristi, my husband said the same thing, short dog for the short girl! LOL My husband is only 5"9 so he doesnt tower over me, barbara, your comment about your husband walking your dogs looks like he is wearing fuzzy slippers had me in stitches! too funny...cute photo of the two of you!

Barbara,

I can see why kisses would be a problem for DH Great picture of you two all dressed up!

When I ask Em for kisses I sit down and bend over, she puts her front paws on my knee and then licks my ear! That's as far off the ground she gets till someone picks her up.

When she was Chloe's age she would run from the kitchen to launch herself onto my lap (apx 14 feet) and still I would need to reach down and grab her in mid air otherwise she would bounce off the side of the chair! The Girl has her feet firmly on the ground!

Chloe hasn't quite got the hang of ear kisses yet - she is more like the song "I want to kiss you all over - and over again!"

Liam used to bark in the car and it was very loud in the closed area. It would scare me to death while I was driving. So I would tell him, no barking, say ROOROO. So now, most of the time, he'll just look at pedestrians and make the guard sound ROOROO.

DH is 6'6" tall and I'm 5'4" so we have that 14" difference too. It's hilarious to watch that huge guy play the "ruff" chase game with 12" Liam. They were playing chase around the coffee table and Mike decided to go over the coffee table one leg on each side. Liam just about lost his mind barking - Hey, that's NOT FAIR!!!
