Do you dream about your Corgi - 05-18-2006, 06:13 PM

I've started a new poll.

It should be more interesting than our only previous official poll.

It came to me this morning after two dreams I had involving Taylor, my Pembroke Corgi. I'm sure quite a few other Go Corgi members must have dreams of their Corgis too.

One of my dreams was fairly amusing. I was walking down a sidewalk with Taylor off-lead and down the sidewalk a bit was a mouse scurrying here and there but generally right in the middle of the pathway. A couple of frightened women saw the mouse too and one said to me " your dog can catch that mouse. " I thought to myself, well Taylor doesn't usually chase anything. He doesn't chase cats and seldom a bird, why would he chase after a mouse. But I replied to the woman " but the mouse might run on the road and my Corgi might then be in danger from traffic in chasing after it."
Anyway, Taylor confronted the mouse and just sniffed at it and they both parted friends. I actually feel that this result was in keeping with Taylor's personality.

The second dream (or scene) was a lot different. A trio of wild looking German Shepherds were racing down the sidewalk heading straight for Taylor, again off-lead. I called out to the Corgi to remain calm (steady) and he did even though one of the Shepherds half picked him up. Taylor looked at me in anguish but it seemed the Shepherd had lost momentum when his victim was not fighting back. And that's when I woke up from the dream.

So please participate in the poll - the results could tell us something about Corgis' moms and dads.

Poll entry is by way of the official poll on the right hand column of the home page.

Michael,

I must say that I have never dreamt about my Cody or my cats either.

I have never had a dream in which Ruby was present. Watch tonight that it is in my head she will appear.

What a fun poll!

I've combined the two threads to avoid confusion.

I haven't dreamed about Dudley yet...but then again, I've only had him three weeks so I guess there's still plenty of time

Corgi dreams - 05-22-2006, 12:10 AM

My corgi dreams are always good dreams. Picabo passed away in October and when I dream of her we are out walking on trails and she's chasing chipmunks and squirrels through the woods.

AWilliams - You'll need a specialist in the field to analyse your dreams. But I wouldn't think that taking your Corgi to a music concert is out of the ordinary - not be my standards anyway. I often take Taylor to outdoor summer pop concerts - most of them between 7pm and 10pm - and he enjoys the atmosphere and I'm sure he likes some of the music.
I wonder if anyone dreams of their Corgi in an extremely unlikely situation or have they all got a touch or realism.

Corgigirl27 - Is it upsetting to dream of Picabo or because the dreams are about happy times, do they make you "smile."

In the past I have dreamed of people who had passed away. These dreams came shortly after the sad event. They were never bad dreams and they seemed to be a visit of sorts to say goodby. I think this may be how Corgigirl27 is feeling about her dreams of Picabo. Another chance to say "I love you", and at the same time letting go.

Jane,

I have never dreamt about Cody or my recent corgi who passed away, but I did dream about my cat shortly after he passed away last year.(I had initially stated that I had not), but now I remember my being somewhere where I could not see anyones face, but I was asking if they had seen my Sam, when suddenly I found him and, he jumped into my arms, and there were many other animals around.

Linda
