T-Gal- I come with cooking skills too! I do a mean Spaghetti Bolonaise and everyone just loves my curry meals - from Butter Chicken throught to Rogan Josh. Taylor and I would love your girls. If you come in that T-shirt then I will just have to cut a large opening in the roof of my otherwise cherry red sports car. It is made for three Corgis and two T-shirted people. I think you fly mainly south then let the wind take you across the Pacific. If you re-register the Corgis as guide dogs and you wear dark glasses and carry a white cane (do they allow these things on planes still), their fares will be cheaper and you can save some of your lottery winnings for me....... I mean ..... for later.

OH I wanna come too!!!! Dillon would love it! I could wear my "Got Corgi" T-shirt....and wear dark glasses and harness up Dillon so we can fly together. ( I dont fly becuase i want dillon in the cabin with me and he is too big to be stuffed into a tiny carrier for under the seat!!!! Imagine , we go to NC every month or so and have to drive the 9 1/2 hours each way because we wont leave Dillon behind! That is dedication!!!! ( Driving to NZ might be an issue though so we will have to go with the seeing eye corgi idea instead! )

I've got my sun glasses and I have a walking stick that I use when we go to Canada to ward off the bears .... The Girls already have harnesses... Get the the little red sports car ready!!

Now that we know of your special skills in the kitchen Michael you are going to need to post recipes! I like hot dishes - just ask Hubby

Emilie if you and Linda come too then we could have a Corgi Parade! Michael line up another car!! ...but do you think the Airline would believe four seeing eye Corgi? As clumsy as I am sighted I would need both Girls to get around!

We could tell them we are going to a seminar Hosted by Michael in New Zealand - and we all belong to the same group

Of course, if you were blind - you wouldn't know that the Blind Institute had sold you a Corgi as a guide dog and not a Golden Retriever or a Lab. So if the airline people say to you " hey, a Corgi isn't a seeing eye dog. " your reply would be " What Corgi. "
I just realised that you people would use your white canes to ward me off - I'm Grizzly without adding the Bear.
My recipes are strickly from the good books. I stick religiously to the recipe and everyone gets the genuine thing. If I can't get hold of just one small ingredient - I just don't make that particular meal. That's the secret. Cumin seeds are not the same as ground cumin and so on. Though I do improvise a little on occasions. That's one thing that Taylor never gets - spicy food or anything with a touch of spiciness on it apart from a little garlic.

Would you believe that the October 6 Corgi walk and picnic has been cancelled three times -that's three successive Sundays - because of poor weather. So it's scheduled again for this coming Sunday, November 5. The long range forecast is for reasonable weather. I've also added in a function. The local Cosmopolitan Club in Upper Hutt is having a grand opening of its massive Garden Bar from 4pm in the afternoon. So all the Corgi owners - minus their Corgis are invited to attend thanks to my membership. There are special activities organised and the beer etc will be at half price plus free food. Can't let this go by -food and a chance to relax after such a strenuous 90 minute walk. Do you have Cossie Clubs in the USA - these are service and entertainment clubs for any upstanding citizen - the club in Upper Hutt is only 13 months old and has a membership of 5000 which makes it the biggest and the best facility of its kind in NZ.

The Corgi walk went well. The walk itself lasted almost two hours. We had 10 Corgis in total. Taffy, the Corgi pup that I had once looked after for a fortnight, was there and everyone - apart from his elderly owner - thought he was lovely and several of them were saying if Jack (the owner) doesn't want him, I'll take him. I took him for the walk itself because his owner couldn't go the distance. So the first thing I did was let him off his leash and he really had a wow of a time. The first chance he got he jumped into the stream - and made the other side but was too frightened to come back. He just sat his bottom in the water and held on to the far bank. So we I had to strip off some clothes to go to the rescue. He finally came half way across and kind of held onto a rock that was almost fully immersed. So I started wading out but didn't have to haul him in because he did iit all himself. He's somewhat overweight which doesn't help a Corgi in their swimming. However, for the rest of the trip he found plenty of good spots for safer swims. All the 10 Corgis (all Pems) got on real well together - not one fight or argument or growl even. Plenty of plays and rough and tumble though both Taffy and Taylor ( who are entire) got a little amorous a couple of times with spayed females. The waterfall we visited was trully spectactular and none of the Corgis dared go under it. Only two of the 10 Corgis didn't want to venture in the stream for a swim - yep, Taylor was one of them. Taffy and Taylor get on so well together and they actually look much alike though Taylor has a longer body and Taffy has a good front. I gave Taylor a biscuit and Taffy grabbed it and ate half and another of the Corgis grabbed most of the other half, yet no one squabbled over it.
