Tn Corgi Meet - 01-28-2007, 11:31 AM

I know I've been told b4 but can't remember now ...

What is the date for the Tennesee Corgi Picnic and where will it be held?
Also I think there was a website last year??? Am hopeful that The Girls, Hubby & I can make it this year.

Oh T Gal that would be wonderful - it is in May around the 18th I think. It is on the website but I am having a moment so can't remember just where but Deb will tell us I am sure. It is so much fun and it will be better this year because I will have two. I am going to schedule Dale's neuter for after the picnic so we will be able to go with no worries. Hopefully, Cindy will be able to come this year also. I have to add that there is nothing like having two corgi boys in a home. It is truly wonderful - even the pottytraining.

Is it only for Tennesseers or can corgis from out of state come as well? We get out of school that week and it would be wonderful to get out of flat Illinois for a few days and put some faces to the names here at GoCorgi.

Jeni,

Absolutely you'll be welcome. It is not unusual to have attendees from California, Michigan, Ohio, Maine, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky ...

Since I don't have anyone to bring at this point, I wonder if they'd let me come anyway? I only live about 90 miles from Kingsport. Maybe I could tape a 16 x 20 photo of Katie to a piece of cardboard and attach a stiff leash to it and stay 50 yards away...maybe no one would notice.

Colcolt,

I didn't take any dogs last year and have only taken one of my "own" just once. Every other year I've taken fosters along. Don't worry, there's always a spare corgi to share.

Maybe I could bring a brush and help with the grooming. I'd have to buy one somewhere as I don't need one much. Mine has no bristles.

"The 2007 TN Corgi Picnic will be held Sunday, May 20th from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Shelter No. 1, Borden Park, 901 Lamont St., Kingsport, TN. All corgis and corgi mixes are welcome. "

ColColt - that brush looks like it would do as much for corgi hair as any other I'v seen LOL

Bonnie -I am going to try really hard to be there this year! Hubby's working but I think I'm up for the drive. Will let you know for sure later on!

Hey T-Gal - make sure you let me know when it is next year and I'll put it on the calendar - in fact I'd like to make sure I get the Corgi events that a lot of folks regularly like to attend.

That would be great Deb - I am hoping to go to the NC picnic this year too. I think that one is in September.

Does anyone know if there is an event held in Alabama or Mississippi for corgis? If not, then I will try to go to the one in TN. Have already saved that information just in case!

There's one in Mississippi in the fall.

Here is the best listing of picnics that I have found (and how I found out about utahcorgis ). Unfortunately, the link for the Mississippi picnic wasn't working when I tried it, but maybe they can fix it or you can get hold of someone that knows the correct link. Regardless, if I had the opportunity to get to the TN picnic I wouldn't miss it! Maybe one year .
