I just found out there are corgi meetings every Sunday at 10am at Huntington Beach Dog Park. There's also a doggy beach 5 minutes away.

When I first read your post I was so excited for you that I was going to reply. I am also envious that you have places like this so you can go often. I didn't answer because I knew you would get lots of comments, but where are these members? Suppose some are working? Come on guys, like I said I need reading material.

Berrysale - you'll have to give me a report on the state of the dog park where the Corgis meet. A lot of specific dog parks are not too flash.
Great that you and your Corgi can get to meet a crew of Corgis weekly.

I just went to Huntington Beach today to check it out before the corgi meeting tomorrow. The doggy beach is wonderful!! There are lots of dogs! I didn't get to see a corgi today, but maybe I'll see some at the meeting tomorrow. I'm excited! (The park isn't that great since there isn't a place for small dogs. In California, most dog parks have a small dog area and a big dog area. I usually take mine to the small dog area, since the big dogs step on her etc.)
(We had to make a trip to the vet once after that incident...)

There are very few dog parks in the whole of New Zealand. In most places here one can take their dog into the usual parks etc. And we certainly don't have areas of dog parks separated to cater for small or large dogs, though most of the boarding kennels in NZ who exercise the dogs by social mixing, separate dogs into size groups.

It's impossible to 'spoil' a dog.
Daily beach excursions please.

(stumpy) My dog is similar to your dog too! I guess she thinks she's a big dog and she'll try to hang out with big dogs, but then the big dogs trample all over her. It's kind of sad. One time this German Shepherd tried to bite her butt! From then on, I take her to the small dog area and she's doing great there. She's like the pack leader.
