Mutt March - 10-12-2007, 06:58 AM

On Sunday, Molsen & Miller were part of the Mutt March in Detroit. Which was approx 1 mile walk to benefit the Humane Society. This was the 2nd annual event and the first for us. There were over 100 dogs there plus their owners. The boys were excited to sniff the other dogs and check out the place. There were a couple dogs that were a little out of control, but peer pressure worked, and the people got control of their animals. Molsen made a friend with a Bull Mastif. The mastif accidently lifted Molsen's butt to sniff him. It was cute.

My Friend Michele walked Molsen & I walked Miller. We were worried that Molsen might not make the complete walk, because he is older and does not always do well at walking long distances, but Molsen was a trooper and completed the whole walk with no problems.

At the turn around point for the walk, there was a large park with fountains. It was cool to see all the Labs and water dogs hop in for a swim. I took the boys to the smaller fountain. Miller hopped up on the side to check it out ... Then Molsen jumped up and knocked Miller in, then joined him. It was cool to see them play in the water. Who would have thought two corgi's would have gone for a swim (more like a splash!)

It was a great time and my team raise $5,000 and our company matched dollar for dollar. Hopefully this will help keeping more dogs alive in the shelters and provide better services to the community.

That sounds like a lot of fun - did you have your camera handy for the splashing around. I bet it was adorable.

They were too quick or I was too slow getting the camera out. I only have one of Molsen jumping out.
