Talking *~* My two kids & my Corgis'...bound for NY ! - 07-13-2006, 01:05 PM

*~* We are going to visit family in Pulaski, New York and also Syracuse, New York. We shall be leaving this evening (around 8:00 pm) after my son's Baseball game.

I am driving there in my Ford F~150 (King Ranch...baby !). I am going to put Midnight & Sunshine in their pet carrier inside the truck. I am fortunate that they fit on the floor of the truck...soon, they will both be too big to fit in a pet carrier.

I looked into the price of puppy car seats. I cannot afford TWO of them..at this time.

My children's father is here visiting & we will be driving together with our two kids & our Corgis' !!

We will be gone for 8 days.
I will be bringing my laptop...so, I will TRY to still post & keep in touch.

Hello Nikki:

Enjoy your trip - I am originally from the Fort Drum area and that is not too far from where you are going. I haven't been there in over 5 years though. We will miss you

I just spend a month in New York. It was great to get away from the heat in Arizona. I love the trees and green so much.

Talking *~* My girls were so well behaved during the WHOLE vacation !! - 07-27-2006, 12:39 AM

*~* Midnight & Sunshine slept during the whole car ride to New York ! I was so impressed at how well they behaved during the car ride. They both laid down in their pet carrier and went right to sleep...and stayed asleep until we stopped for gas or food. When we finally arrived in Pulaski, New York...we had to take a pontoon boat over to Art's Uncle's ISLAND. My children's father (Art) and I still vacation with the kids to New York to visit his Uncle & his Grandmother.

**Divorce...doesn't stop the relationship that I have with his family.**

THE ISLAND: Uncle Ken ownes a small island (about 3 acres) in Lake Ontario (Pulaski, New York). We have to use his pontoon boat to bring all of our luggage over to the island. His dock is near Clarks marina & there are a few boats docked there...but, it is so cool that we get to throw our crap onto a pontoon boat or canoe....and cruise over to an island! It only takes about 2-5 minutes to get from land to the island.
( I will import pictures...real soon)
Midnight & Sunshine were going bizerk...barking at the ducks and geese swimming in the lake as we putted over to the island. When we first got to the island...we let Midnight & Sunshine loose off of their leash. They took off running and zoomed all over the place. They NEVER had that much to see ! Trees all over...a nice free space of land with WATER surrounding it!
They were in heaven...so to speak.

When we first took Midnight & Sunshine to the beach...they were so happy !
They were zooming all over the sand...barking and just having a ball !
( I have video of them barking at our kite that we were flying...it is soooo funny ! I want to send it to, "Planets Funniest Animals" !! )

** I have many pictures & also video of our vacation to share with you all.
I am making a movie with all of the clips that I took.....lots of editting !
That is the draining part of making a movie...all of the editting !

Nikki - sound like a lot of fun for everyone. There is not much better for kids or dogs than a little island in a clean, clear lake and the island has all the ingredience like shady trees, grass, bush, sand and nice cooling breeze on warm/hot days and with it all is absolute freedom.

Sounds like the pups are having a blast - I think one of the best things we can do for our dogs is give them a place they can run freely and safely and just be themselves. Mine love our friend's cottage and they can even go out without their collars - au natural - as it were.

OMG!!! I WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! That place sounds like HEAVEN. So secluded, so natural {sigh} . . . it pays to keep in touch with ex-inlaws like that!
