I'm glad that I made you smile Colcolt - that's one of the good things about this site - there are some great people here who care about each other.
I'm seriously thinking of planning a road trip south this summer - I'd love to meet you and I know Rupert and you would have a rip roaring time - pun intended!!! |

I was kinda worried that I'd be boohooing from reading this post. What a lovely tribute. Ryn (July 07) and Marsh (Dec 07) are in black ginger jars on my bookshelf. If you've ever read "Where the Red Fern Grows"; well it was like that. They were sibs and were gone within months of each other. So I know how bittersweet it is. Happy memories and sad regrets.
But you all cheered me right up with brags about the CCFC. I am thinking of conditioning Liam for the American title. He's certainly in the running for best SBD (silent but deadly). |

I loved where the red fern grows...read in 6th grade Language Arts...Old Dan and Little Ann! I bawled for days over that book..Sounder and Shiloh, too. Any book with a dog in it. Currently I am reading Ace the Important Pig to my class, just because one of the main characters, Megan is a snooty corgi!
Anyway, ColColt the headstone is BEAUTIFUL! What a lovely tribute and marker for such a lovely member of your family.

Uh - then Jem and Maya could easily compete with the boys - I almost had to have her out of my office last night it was so silent and deadly!!!
White Shoulders is a perfume by Elizabeth Arden - now how does a gentleman like Colcolt know about White Shoulders, I ask?????

Wait . . . . girls don't do that??? I don't think Jackie got that memo!
Then again . . . she's not the most ladylike girlie either. What's funny is, sometimes they make a noise, and she jumps up and whirls around like What the %$#@ was that?!?!?! Nice try Princess, we know it was you!ColColt - the headstone is beautiful, and a very fitting tribute to your love for Katie. She's a lucky girl to have a Daddy who loves her so much, even after she's gone to the bridge. You brought tears to my eyes with your posts, but I am so glad that you are finding some comfort here. And Deb is right - we have all been there, and we know what it feels like. We are here for you, and we share your loss, even though we have never met in person. It takes one to know one, right? Now break out the chili dogs and cornbread! Deb - swing that bus on by here and pick me & Jackie up (and maybe Keith too, if he's a good boy ). Yee-HAAAAAAA!!!

You're right Deb-this is a great site and it's like home to me even though I can't share (currently) my experiences daily like you gals as I'm alone now...no dog, cat, Mom or Dad, kids...just me and I look forward reading about the experiences ya'll have and it just makes me smile a lot. I thank you all for that. Give me a "holler" if you even get to TN, Deb-I make some cooked cabbage and crab cakes you can give to Rupert for snacks. How do I know about White Shoulders? My first wife from many decades ago wore it in high school and it came back to me for some reason. Maybe I should have said Jesmine. I think the old Avon stuff like To A Wild Rose or Cotillion(sp?) would make me leave the room if it's like it use to be. Nope-not quite a connoisseur Jeni but like them sweet smelling gals.Loool And, especially if they don't dip!!! Quote:
Now that's a complete surprise to me, Jessica! I never would have believed it. I'd love to see that little scenario-bet it's hilarious. I've got a little machine you can hide and trigger it with a remote that I'll bet she'd have fun with. Many thanks to you all again for everything. I'll have to read these all closer after I get home. |

Colcolt, did you know that your Private Msg sytem is blocked? I was trying to rely to you, and it will not accept it.

Hmmmm...I'll go into it and see if I can see what the problem is. I just got in a few minutes ago but, I'll check it out-thanks.
This is all I saw that may have changed... If you do not want to send or receive private messages, you may disable the private messaging system. Enable Private Messaging The box was checked so, I just unchecked it. I don't recall changing it though. Maybe it'll be ok now with the box unchecked. I assume that's what it means-to check if you don't want to send/receive messages. Last edited by ColColt; 04-03-2007 at 03:21 PM. |
