Camden is another (or was) small little town where everybody knows everybody-sort of like Mayberry. Did anyone ever show you how to floss your teeth when you ran out of dental floss? You just take that red ring off baloney and let it dry a while and it's as good as Johnson and Johnson's floss!!

I didn't know about Clinton, Emilie...my deepest condolences. I barely remember Misty as that was right before or right after I first came here and was still trying to get over the deep grief of Katie. I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined I could have gotten so attached to a dog but, it happened and I didn't know it till she was gone.
Poor Rupert, I know his ears must be burning with everyone talking about him and blaming him for things someone else does!! Bless his heart!NC is my old home state. I grew up there but left for TN back in 1974 and just love it here. I've never lived anywhere but the South for any length of time and wouldn't know how to act anywhere else. Why, we even talk to strangers in the grocery line and elevators! Imagine doing that in Jersey. Someone would probably pull out a can of mace.

You would be surprised how hospitable people are in the north. When we went to New York City our first and only time, people would see our tags and holler Go Vols. I talked to people on the ferry and everywhere we went. The people manning the toll booths thought we were crazy though when we pulled up to the booth on Halloween night about 10 pm and asked for directions to the Empire State Building. We had fun and drove through every tunnel there. the only one that had problems was Digger and he almost got attacked by a big dog off leash in a park the next day. Scared me to death. We bought real life Rolex watches LOL from the hockers for souveniors.

There's strange birds everywhere...even here! Next time ya'll come down this way, give me a yell. I'd love to talk with you. Glad you liked Knoxville. I love the mountains around here and resort areas like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are only about 45-50 miles from here. |

What a sweet and touching tribute to your baby! Thanks for sharing the pics.
I have the ashes of my little girl kitty, Tiramisu, in my china closet. Seems a fitting place for her, among the pretty china and crystal. She was every bit as beautiful and was such a girly girl. Her food and water bowl were Lenox china with pink rosebuds. (I worked at Lenox part-time so I had tons of the stuff)! I miss her everyday. It is hard to lose a cherished pet, that is for sure.

Having lived in both the North and the South, I can say that people are friendly in both places. But they are friendly in different ways, and sometimes are misunderstood by those from other areas. People talk to me every day when I walk down the street in Manhattan, whether it's to say "Good Morning" or "That's a nice sweater". But the speed at which we move can sometimes put people off. We also hold doors for each other and say "Thanks" when someone holds a door for us. Granted, there are nice and . . . not nice . . . people everywhere (LOVE the garden analogy ColColt!!!).
![]() PS - flossing teeth with baloney wrapper? Yuck! Never heard that one. Conway is on the driving corridor for Myrtle Beach, so it is rapidly growing. Aynor, SC, on the other hand, is the neighbor to Conway, and VERY tiny . . . although I did hear that their blinking light was recently changed to a real stoplight . . . very exciting news!!!!
