Show Report
Well I had a grand time!
I knew I was missing showing, I just didn't realize how much until I was in the ring this weekend. (How much work it can be helping with multiple dogs and breeds kind of escaped my memory too. ) Munchee did very well for his first time out and being in that awkward teenage stage both physically and mentally. He's very much like his sire; somewhat serious, gentlemanly, needs to have all "his" people and party where he can see them when traveling in a group. Instead of being in the front and leading the way, we had to get behind my sister and B-I-L and the dolley they were pulling with other dogs in it. Sunday he really had fun, which is most important of all. Saturday we got out cuted by a Junior handler and her dog. Sunday is a little complicated to explain, but we did "win" the class. My sister had a great weekend and there was a strong family representation in the ring. Saturday Winner's Bitch's sire is Munchee's dad, so his half-sister. Another relative was Winner's Dog that my sister was showing and he finished his championship. Best of Breed was yet another relative. Sunday, a dear friend's girl (no relation this time <g>) was WB. Winner's Dog was a dog my sister bred and Best of Breed was my sister's special again. Had a nice visit with Pem club members and a fun cookout and visit with Cardigan friends I haven't had a chance to spend time with for some time now. I came home to find 13 1/2 year old Obie, my heart Pem boy with a hematoma on his ear, so Monday it was off to the vet's with him for surgery. Picked him up yesterday and he's looking pitiful, but doing fine. Have a rescue foster going to his new home tomorrow afternoon and I'm really excited about this special home. This weekend I have "off" and the two following weekends I'm doing rescue booths. Debbie, in one of those whirlwind modes

Debbie:
It sounds like you had a great time. How old is Munchee? What events did you enter? Glad to hear Obie is doing fine. They sure do look pitiful after surgery.

Glad you had a good time, Debbie. Sounds like you really enjoy dog shows.
Did you see the Houston dog show on Animal Planet? Part of the Eukanuba Series? A Cardigan named Harry Potter won the herding group. (The Pem named Rue was also really pretty.) |

I like Harry Potter - he's been in all the big shows lately!

Munchee and I were only entered in conformation, but one of these days I hope to branch out.
Munchee turned a year this past July. Our next shows will probably be in November near the Charlotte area. Harry Potter, didn't see that particular show, but have seen him in person a few times - very nice boy. |
