Talking Finally - 10-22-2006, 12:16 PM

It only took six months of constant pleading!! Ace has finally decided that being next to us isn't so bad! For the past week or so he has been getting on the couch or chair and a half to lay next to me. He would never lay next to us. We would put him up with us and he would jump right back down. Or if I sat on the floor next to him he would move to a different spot! As I type this in my chair and a half Ace is asleep on my leg. I am loving this! We thought as a puppy Ace would want to cuddle but not so. As he grows up he is becoming more and more lovable. We just wanted to share our excitement because as many of you know our very first post was us saying our corgi doesn't like us! My, how things have changed!

Chip is not real cuddly either but he has been giving more kisses and less nibbles since his tooth got fixed and I love it too.

Jim and Bethany,

I remember you thinking that "Ace didn't like you" - time has sure flown by.

Good to hear that he is becoming more of a cuddler

Cody is more of a cuddler than he was 3 or 4 months ago. One of Cody's favorite things to do is get up on the back of the sofa and rest he head on our shoulder

Congrats on your cuddler!! How exciting. Dudley has always been overly cuddly and loves to sit in any open laps. Funny how different all of their personalities are!

That is really good news, nothing better than a cuddle from your corgi. Dillon is not always super affectionate, but he will sit on the couch next to me and put his head in my lap...i love when he does that.
Linda, cody sounds so cute! I love that, Dillon can't do it, the back of our couch is not resting against a wall, he would fall off! LOL

Glad to hear Ace is coming around! In a few weeks you'll be wishing for some "alone" time LOL

Emma doesn't like to sit on my lap for more than a few minutes. She will sit with Hubby longer but I think it's only because she is looking for crumbs in his chair LOL She does love to lay between my chair and footstool with me or under the computer desk when I'm here.

Chloe on the other hand feels like if there is an open lap somewhere it must be meant for her to be in it! She takes a nap with me or if I'm in my chair she is laying stretched out length way on my legs.

Right now Em is under my desk and Chloe is beside my chair on the left.

Great news Jim & Bethany! Glad he's growing up to become what you were hoping for.

LOL @ Tgal, Darci sounds like chloe...lol
An open lap is hers for the taking.

Egan however sounds more like Ace, he's happier to lay by himself in the floor.

So glad Ace is letting you guys get in some cuddle time.
Those can be some of the sweetest moments.

Now this is good news and in some ways it is even more of a pleasure than if Ace had been all over both of you from day one. Taylor, 3.75 years old, has never been one to sit on my lap for long periods until just recently- and now he'll stay for quite a while or until I actually gently put him down - that is if there is no one coming towards the front door from outside (because he still is the chief greeter) and no one in the kitchen or going to the kitchen (because there might be something by way of food for him).
Pem males tend to get chummier with their owners as time goes on - perhaps they become less distracted and more at ease.

Thanks for all the kind words! We are really enjoying our new cuddler! After reading all the posts it is interesting how differently our corgis show their affection!
