Not Your Average Dog Show - 02-11-2007, 05:09 PM

I took Tucker and Lulu to Pittsfield, MA this afternoon to a findraiser held by their community college called Not Your Average Dog Show. I believe this is the 3rd or 4th year they have done this and there had to be 200 people and close to 100 dogs.

It was purely for fun. The competitions were things like Most Vocal, Best Dressed, Best Fetcher, EARresistable Ears, Best Kisser, etc.

We didn't bring home any prizes but brought home 2 very tired Corgis! A great fundraiser if anyone is looking to do something for a rescue group. This benefited their scholarship program.

Anyway.... Lulu met her long lost brother! Actually it was a Corgi mix named scooter. They took one look at each other and were best pals. Here are photos:

I think she forgot to show them. I have to take my glasses off to see the computer and I didn't see anything either. Since they're fairy dogs, maybe they left before we could see them!!

There was 1 other 6 yr old Corgi, a sable. Wanted nothing to do w/ us! He was a bit timid interacting face to face w/ other dogs but not at all shy about sniffing behind them!

Of course, Tucker had to love on everyone he met, Lulu flirted hopelessly. A french Bulldog named Gilbert was enamored w/ Miss Lulu. I think it was the hearts on her bandana!

I won a sweatshirt from the Berhshire Humane Society, bought some doggie treats, and we ddrank 3 bottles of water between the 3 of us! Very dry inside.

My tired dogs just got a 2nd wind/frap attack.

Susan

Great shots, Susan! Good to hear that Lulu and her brother got along great. Of course all pictures of Corgis look good on a mac...the imac G5 is my favorite although I still use Windows.

Great pictures. That pretty bandana must have helped to attract the bulldog to her; Gotta love Scooter's ears.

There is a fun dog show coming up on the 24th Feb in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Last year Taylor, my Pem Corgir came runner-up overall and won a very nice trophy for winning the fun agility and recall sections of the competition. This year Taylor and I hope to win the overall trophy. The only reason we didn't win last year was I didn't enter into the look alike parade, but in a couple of weeks it will be all guns blazing - we will both be dressed up for the event's grand finale. The fun dog show is part of a huge gala which has dozens of events and lots of stalls spread over a huge sports and recreation ground and attracts thousands of people. Taylor and I am also part of the agility demonstrations put on by the club we are members of.
