Charlie's Photo with Santa - 12-15-2007, 01:14 PM

I took Charlie to PetSmart today for his puppy photo with Santa! While it looks like he sat pretty and "posed", it was actually amazing that we got such a good picture with the very first shot. LOL They tried to take 2 or 3 for me to have a choice, then just said "Actually the first one is pretty good. Look at this one." I said, "That's perfect! No need for more."

Meanwhile Charlie squirmed, played "popcorn" dog (jumped up and down), tried to kiss the "ruddy" off Santa's cheeks, chewed on Santa's glasses, and attempted tug-of-war with Santa's beard (and almost won).

And look how calm and innocent he looks!

Poor Santa! He was well underpaid at a total cost of $10 for the photo, frame, and pup-abuse, and $5 went to the sponsor, our local Boxer Rescue League.

This was the first trip to the pet store where I needed a shopping cart (for 10 lbs of cat food and 20 lbs of cat littler). Charlie was trying to herd the cart. As I was afraid I'd roll over him, I put him in the large bin of the cart. He seemed to throroughly enjoy being wheeled up and down the aisles with his front paws on the top rim of the cart. Nose forward over the edge, "Faster, Mom, faster! Go this way!" We shopped and got a new Nylabone and a new rubber ball to stuff treats into, and Charlie was well-petted and loved by many fellow customers.

Serious business these Santa photos. I should take Taylor to one of the members of the Corgi club who is a full time Santa.

"...trying to herd the cart"?

A corgi? Gee, what a shocker!

LOL! What a great story!

Although...pardon my ignorance on this my first day here, but: where are the pics? I don't see an "attachment" button anywhere, nor any photos in the body of the message. I feel like such a newbie!

Ha, thanks!

I tried to attach a pic inside the thread, but it was too big. It did download to the Photo Gallery. Look at the tabs along the top. You can click forums (since the pic is still recent), or for older photos click Photos, then the Pembroke option.

D'OH!!

Oops. Yeah, I guess I should have checked that 950 font high, neon, blinking, almost audible area at the top of the page with all the photos first, huh?

Lol...

I found it! What an achingly cute picture! (And not just because Charlie looks just like my Casey. Really. )

Thanks for point that out to me - it was worth the humiliation of asking!

That a great story! Charlie sure fooled me, he looks like an angle in that picture with santa!

Yes I agree with you, playing santa claws take a special individual who can wrestle with dogs, fight the smell (peanut needs a bath but its just too cold to do a full wash), face licking, costume chewing and fussy dogs!

I was at petsmart last weekend to buy food for my boyfriends pets (a corn snake and a leopard gecko) and there were so many dogs in line to take pics with santa. I was anticipating going this week to beat the rush, but to my surprise, last weekend was the final days to take pics with santa. … maybe next year Peanut.

I procastinated the weekend before, and barely caught the last weekend. Though I was dreading long lines, I was surprised that there were only a couple of people ahead of us. We got there before noon, and Austin is not a "morning person" city. LOL

Yes, poor "doggie" Santas!
