When dad comes home! - 02-04-2008, 01:02 PM

Dad wakes up in the morning, and the sun has just come up, I would go over and lick him but I don't want to get up. So he leaves me and this little blonde Piko he calls her, laying in his bed while he goes and takes a shower and towel dries his head.

I see him come back to the room and he ask if I want to pee, I look at him with big brown eyes asking "Why are you bothering me?". Now this Piko thing starts bouncing and if she gets to close I will swat her with my Corgi paw but I realized that made things worse so I don't do that at all. So Dad finally climbs on his bed and picks me up softly, but I am a sleepy Corgi why does my dad always bother me.

Reluctantly I go outside with this blond Piko on my back, when dad closes the outside door I am going to pay her back. Finally I stretch my legs and walk the perimeter fence, I take care of my business and tackle that 10 pound pest.

Dad comes back to the door and lets us run inside, we both eat our food slowly but dad just sits and smiles. I don't want to eat in the kitchen especially when dad does not, so I take a mouthful of whats been cooked and drop it on his socks.

Dad protest when I do it but I can tell you see, with my big brown Corgi eyes dad really just loves me. I must admit when dad puts that military uniform on, I wag my tail and pant a little because I'm not sure how long he will be gone.

Dad had gotten smart and packed his bags early but I am a smart one you cannot pull that trick on me. So when dad came to the living room to head on off to work, on his bags I was laying your not leaving me here alone and up my ears will perk.

But its something that I am used to and I can cope you see because when dad gets off and comes back home he always loves on me!

" A Pembroke Corgi" : "When we are born...our ears are down...our tails are docked & we wear no frown. As we mature...the ears come up...our personality develops...no more a pup. When we chew our bone...the legs come out...and the "Flying Squirrel" lies alone. A corgi is a wonderful breed...much LOVE from owner to Canine...is received."
