Luckily, snow here is short lived and we've not had much of it this winter. Pip also HAS to roll around in it and immediately starts looking for ice to chew on when he steps outside. I've gotten into the habit of kicking it as we walk and he bites at it. He loves it! I have to say, I'd rather have a dog that likes going out in the snow vs a couple of neighbor's dogs who refuse to go out in it. Sometimes it's too much of a good thing though, he doesn't ever want to come in the house, and I'm out there standing in cold!

*~* Missing the Missouri snow... -
02-24-2008, 09:26 AM
*~* Midnight & Sunshine were born in Nixa, Missouri.
We lived there for only about 2 years.
The first time that they saw snow...they went crazy running around the backyard chasing eachother (frapping). We had over an acre of backyard space for the girls to play in.
The snow would typically only last for a few days. However, it was enough to have TONS OF FUN in !
** My husband's family lives in Jefferson City, Missouri and also
Bella Vista, Arkansas. We shall be visiting Missouri this summer.
Lake Tahoe is a popular spot for us as well. A lot closer than Misssouri or Ark.
*~* Nikki
" A Pembroke Corgi" : "When we are born...our ears are down...our tails are docked & we wear no frown. As we mature...the ears come up...our personality develops...no more a pup. When we chew our bone...the legs come out...and the "Flying Squirrel" lies alone. A corgi is a wonderful breed...much LOVE from owner to Canine...is received."

Vikki loved the snow when we were living in Northern Japan. She would just run and jump right into a huge pile where here 25lb frame would instantly disappear, 4 foot of snow 15 inches of dog = where did my corgi go.
Now my Mini Dach, Piko she was not fond of it, that was until it froze over and could support her. I found out that burrowing into the snow and making an under snow tunnel was just what she was built for!!!
Yes I miss the snow alot, I had alot of fun with my two!!

Youngest child and my hubby have been "mining". Dogs love running the tunnels which are now over 20 ft long!
Peggy was nice and is sending 3-6" our way tonight. Currently it's just above freezing and raining. Going to be a thrill to go home and it start freezing.

I certainly hope as they are also predicting 20-30mph winds later tonight. Heavy band between Hwy 20 and Interstate 80-I'm dead center in that.
God certainly has a sense of humor this year.

I keep telling myself that shoveling snow is a good weight loss plan.
You should see our driveway, what a mess! Some melting so it freezes at night, ruts in it, it's just awful now!

Oh, Austin! Ok.
Ok, not a problem. Send refrigerated trucks. I'll even help load them. I think Jeff can borrow a front loader.....
And we're thinking here how much colder we'd be without Global Warming. (I'm tired of shoveling our global warming!!)
I hear it's la nina. Messes with the jet streams.
