Saturday Morning Wrestling Match

My three sleep with us at night and are really good. Monday thru Friday they are lazy and will lay to bed well past 7:00 am - thankfully my hubbie is home with them during the week to let them out and feed them breakfast if they stay to bed late. Well here it is Saturday morning and I get to sleep late - not! My three decide to wrestle and romp on the bed at 6:10 this morning. My normal time to get up. It was a free for all. No winner of the romp except they ended up with the whole bed to themselves. Chip & Dale are usually the top contenders and Taffy with her shrill bark is the referree. Now this wrestling match has no rules as the referree gets a bite or two in while still managing to run that big ole mouth of hers. I will give her credit because she bites and nips the bottom contender whichever one it is. All it fair in love and corgi romps on an early Saturday morning.

Funny you should be up so early this morning, Bonnie, I too, was woken up at 6am this morning... with a barage of kisses from Gus and Dillon... Dillon has been sleeping on a body pillow above my head and his allergies are starting early this year so he woke me up about 4 times last night chewing on his toes, and I am hyper sensitive to the sound of him chewing so i can stop him before he makes his feet raw... so much for sleep...

My husband is up at 4:30 most mornings, I roll out at 5:30. So what happens on the weekends? Yeap-one or two of them end up standing on your chest or staring at you from the side of the bed. I am lucky that David will get up and let them out because he can fall right back to sleep at the drop of a hat. I tend to ignore, unless it's Fred who is the chest stander and then sticks his cold nose in places he shouldn't.

Sleep in on my days off? That would be a dream come true! I get up around 5:30 when I work, which of course means by 5:35 the dogs are let out for the first round of business (they seem to have 3 rounds in the morning, 15 minutes apart). Then one last round at 6:30 before I leave for work. So, on our days off, by 6:30, Duncan is standing at the side of the bed whining lightly, which slowly gets louder until it sounds like a jet engine in your ear. Chloe is sitting beside him, her tail going faster and faster as his whines get louder and louder. And if my husband is home that morning, it's his side of the bed they are at doing their morning wakeup call.

Seems we all have some what of the same problem. Our Carmar (a Mini Doxie that is 14 yrs) will try to smother you if you even try to ignore her. Seel (an 11 month old Mini Doxie) could sleep in till noon. Harley (our Pembroke and my baby who is now 3 yrs) is ready the min. you show signs of life. It's off the bed and a pubesent bark that continues till everyone is up and out. Once back in the house, Carmar is non stop barking, exciting the puppy to chew on her and a game of hang from Harley's fur (good thing Harley has lots of hair) while Harley just sits, stares and talks to you ... once they all have eaten, the house quiets down .. except for the puppy who will fetch anything and everything.

This morning, I am up for work at 6 am, the corgi outlaws are still snoozing and finally crawl out at 7:15, stretching and yawning and trying to wake up. Now why couldn't they do that yesterday.
