Also, there have been contests to clebrate reaching a certain number of posts on this forum.
That's kind of silly...do you get a prize? The light bulb is starting to flicker on after reading the link you included.

And a perfect example has just been provided with the newest contest:

I saw that...pretty absurd, for my 2 cents! This has cleared up some things for me though, I've been going through the archived threads trying to look some things up and have found earlier posts by some (or one) that are complete 180's from what I've been reading from the same since joining the board. I find it all kind of sad, and for me at least, it's going to make me wonder from now if these differences of opinion are disingenuous designed to increase the numbers or real. Very disheartening for a CORGI board. On the other hand, I find alot of great advise, knowledgeable people, comic stories, and good camaraderie!

I'm guessing the Senior/Junior/Member thing that appears with the Avatar picture is related to number of posts or length of membership?

It is perfectly legitimate (and is actually encouraged by Stephen, Go Corgi's owner/administrator), to run competitions on Go Corgi for no reason or any reason or for a special or specific reason/s.

In another dog-related forum which i am a member of, we run competitions in similar vein when particular milestones are reached.

My own postings and original threads have nothing to do with a deliberate way of creating volumn per se.

That we have not had a competition for sometime is because the last one we had attracted only two or three entries. If someone would like to put up physical prizes as additional rewards for the current competition, please don't hesitate.
