short dog jokes - 07-02-2006, 03:20 AM

Thought I'd start up a jokes segment based on short, sharp jokes on dogs.

If they can help make poor little Riley and her family laugh, then they will have done some good.

Here's two from me:

" Outside of a dog, a book is your best friend. Inside of a dog - it's too dark to read."

" My husband and I are either going to buy a dog or have a child.
We can't decide whether to ruin our carpet or ruin our lives."

That's a Groucho Marx quote and a favorite of mine.

Debbie - you're right of course. I just love Groucho and his zany jokes.
When I had the final thoughts segment at a Lions dinner meeting, I brought a Groucho disguise and with it on, I told two of his jokes - one of them was about being invited to a perfectly good dinner -" but this wasn't one of them."
They went down a treat. I had the bent back but I unfortunately forgot how Groucho vocalised. I might use the dog joke when next I'm given the opportunity for a profound final thought.

"Better not take a dog on the Space Shuttle, because if he sticks his head out the window, his face might burn up."
