Smile Riley's First Chemo Treatment - 07-11-2006, 07:03 AM

As many of you know, Riley had her first chemo treatment last Thursday. The Dr. felt optimistic that she would do well with the treatments. We knew if she was to react to the drugs it would be on the weekend. I'm happy to let you know that she wasn't sick at all, maybe a little more tired, but still bright and happy. She went swimming both days on the weekend and had a lovely time. The Dr. thought that if the first treatment worked, she may be able to eat solid foods by now and I tried her on some kibble and more solid canned food last night and this morning and she hasn't been sick. She's delighted to be able to chew rather than slurp up her meals! Her poops are better now that she is eating more. It makes me feel hopeful that she will have a remission and she can spend a little longer here bossing her brother around and being my little girl.

Thanks one and all for asking about her and your support, it helps all of us!

Deb

I was heartened to see the "smiley" by the title of your post - and then very relieved to hear the positive news of Riley's first chemo treatment! This is encouraging! Know that we are thinking of you and Riley on this journey to recovery and remission!
