Little Lost Dog - 02-07-2006, 08:58 PM

GoCorgis has reached a membership of 100 - in fact right now its gone over the milestone and rising fast.

It's time to push again for our members to support the pressure been placed on the Disney organisation to re-release their TV Movie first shown in 1963.

The film was called Little Lost Dog and was a well constructed feature about the early adventures of a Pembroke Corgi named Candy. This film was a great catalyst in popularising Corgis world wide.

Some GoCorgi members want this film to be released as a DVD or video and if Disney gets pressured enough, it will do so.

Here is how you can help. Go into website www.disneyvideos.disney.go.com and click onto "questions" (at bottom of page), fill in email request and send. It's as simple as that.

Please help.

Thanks Mike for reminding people of this movie that many of us want to see again. It was my introduction to what a Corgi was and any Corgi lover can identify the sensitivity of the breeds temperment. I am going to go to the website again and ask for the release of" Little Dog Lost"
If we get enough support they will have to listen. Jane

Thanks for the suggestion, I requested it too! And for those of you who like watching Corgi's on TV... there is a Cartoon from Japan called Cowboy Beebop (It's shown on adult swim on Cartoon Network in the US) It's a show about a group of bounty hunters living in space chasing bad guys for money. Anyway they end up with this Dog as a pet and it happens to be a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi. It's name is Ein (short for Einstein). My oldest Corgi name is Ein after the dog in the show. The show is a little on the violent side and parents may not find it ok for small children. Like a lot of Japanese Animation, it's more geared for teens and adults. But the show is what brought my Husband and I interested in the Breed.

For those who haven't done so or have not heard of Little Lost Dog and the efforts by some of us to get the TV movie featuring a Pembroke Corgi out on video or DVD, please refer to the opening Post of this thread for details of how you can help.

The movie goes back to the early 1960's - thats over 40 years ago and yet an 11 year old boy at the smallest of schools ( 39 pupils) told me he saw the very same movie on television and was very impressed with it.

I went and requested it. Just to clarify, is it Little Dog Lost or Lost Little Dog. It says both above. I have never seen it but was glad to request I anyway!

I hope this attempt is more successful than the many prior attempts to have Disney release Little Dog Lost on video or DVD. Over the past decade or so, at least, there have been many such drives to have this accomplished and all have fallen on deaf ears at Disney.

I went back and requested the movie again and asked when it may be televised also. This is a great little movie and my getting Duchess is a direct result of my love for the breed from seeing the movie forty years ago. I appreciate all of you that help in this effort to have it released by Disney.
The movie is televised from time to time. If anyone finds out when it may be on can you let the rest of us know?
