It depends on what distance you're talking about -but I would say that Greyhounds are right up there as sprinting dogs. Huskies would be much faster over long distances and Pharaoh Hounds faster than Greyhounds over short and sharp sprints.
Fit and more streamlined Pembroke Corgis are very fast - make no mistake. They can motor when they feel compelled to.

Huskies would be much faster over long distances and Pharaoh Hounds faster than Greyhounds over short and sharp sprints. A couple of other breeds of hounds would also challene Greyhounds over a short sprint - a Russian hound (Borzoi) and another I can't remember the name at the moment.

Great shots. One of the best photos for any of the stories I have written was of a particularily handsome two-toned golden coloured English Cocker Spaniel with lovely frilly ears, among a thick layer of autumn leaves which were the same colour as the dog.

I am glad to live somewhere with 4 seasons . . . and Fall is defintely my favorite (Spring is a close 2nd).

I think if Jackie had her vote - she would say Winter. That girl LOVES the snow!!!!!!!!

I am in agreement with you also, I love fall; the smells, and the colors of the leaves - and I am a sweater person. However, if it is not above 70, I am cold; hubby says I have an illness and I should be checked out
the only thing I need is to put the thermostat up a few notches.

oh I love the fall too, it is my favorite and spring is my second favorite, then summer and then the dreaded winter...and Dillon loves the winter and the fall best spring is fun ( he likes to sniff the new flowers- dafodils are his favorite! ) summer seems harder on him when it gets hot.

We took Chip for a walk last night to a different walking trail that we haven't used before and it is very woody and the river runs beside it. The wind was blowing and the leaves were rustling and Chip was a little afraid. All of those strange noises. So I just talked to him and reassured him and within 50 ft or so he was fine and enjoyed his walk. When we first started out and Chip heard all of those noises, he growled and then barked - my husband said he was protecting me. Are corgis protective? Anyway, he settled down and had an excellent time. He got to meet 2 little pugs. We will go there more often as I don't want my Chipster to be afraid.
