View from downunder

It was such a lovely and warm spring day this morning in Upper Hutt, New Zealand that I just had to Take my Pem Taylor out for a long romp.
I drove the car for three minutes from home so we could go on one of the river trail tracks. Taylor was off-leash and we went for two hours, stopping near a huge park where I sat on a chair next to a public picnic table and shared out the food with Taylor. From the seat I had a great view of the richly green bush and forest clad hills with not a house or vehicle in sight. Can it get much better than this. Everyone we passed on the track said at the very least a cheery hello or hi. I don't envy anyone who lives in a large city and well away from the countryside.

Michael,

That sounds like lovely scenery. I wish you would post some pictures of New Zealand for us to enjoy - the scenery you just described would be wonderful to see as it is starting to get very cold here now. You said your wife is the one who is good at taking pics - certainly she can give some pointers to you on taking good digital pictures. So, next time take your camera and snap a few shots so we can see the great scenery that you are describing and enjoying. Of course, include your Taylor in some also.

Yes, Michael, we'd love to see some photos of Taylor and the scenery there.

Oh, that sounds so nice, Michael. I bet Taylor loves exploring the countryside - I know Rhys would, but that would require a bit of a drive.

I am so sorry - not one for apologising normally - that I am such a poor photographer. My wife has to be with me to take the shots - and if she was and did, how quickly would she have the negs developed?
Will see what I can do in the future.
In the meantime, don't do anything to aggravate anyone else in the world, so that we can continue to enjoy the serenity of NZ.

Is this the same Michael talking that is a journalist, gathers information, has published a book and trained his dog in agility, but can't snap a picture?

Oh well, I will just do a google of New Zealand and enjoy the views that way

And your last comment should not have even been posted.

Michael:

All we have to do is be here and we aggravate somebody unless they want our $$$ or our protection. Hope you can send pics in the future. Get a digital automatic focus camera and point and click. So easy.

We can all also do a Google Search of New Zealand and get some good views that way since Michael needs help with the camera

Do they sell digital cameras in New Zealand? Michael, are you really taking in the view of some lovely landscape or sitting in the middle of a corn field shooing blackbirds away.

If you don't like us over here, then it should bother you greatly that Taylor has those American genes in him that you have more than once talked about. I think you like our American money over there for all the fruit and other things you export over here.

I agree with you Bonnie, just by being the USA, others in the world are aggrivated and hate us. Doesn't matter what good we do in the world, some countries will never accept us and never think of us a benevolent, so whatever... Granted, not to make this a political post, but I am looking forward to the "changing of the guard" to maybe a good president that communicates better with the world leaders ( one thing that pres. Clinton did so very well)...BEFORE we end up vaporized off this earth...

Emilie:

I don't think you will ever see that happen "vaporized off this earth" unless we are drawn up in the air. I think we are spinning toward the end times and there isn't anyone that can stop that. I have great faith in God and the USA.

I'm with T-Gal. I don't understand hatred at all. It takes too much energy to hate others. That energy is best spent elsewhere. The atrocities that humans commit against each other boggle my mind.

I guess I'm just too lazy to hate!
